At Catholic Charities, our clients are an important part of the immigration process.  We rely on you to give us complete and true information and to take ownership of your own case.  As a client of Catholic Charities Immigration Legal Services, you have the following responsibilities:

  • To keep all appointments with your caseworker or to call the caseworker at least 24 hours in advance to cancel an appointment.  If you show up to your appointment 20 minutes late to your appointment, you will be considered to have not shown.  Our staff members have many appointments each day and cannot always see late clients.  You may wait to see if a staff member can assist you, but there is no guarantee that you will be seen that day.

  • To voluntarily give all information regarding your immigration history, and respond truthfully to all questions asked by your caseworker, furnish all documents requested, and otherwise reasonably cooperate with your caseworker.

  • To keep the caseworker handling your case informed of all developments, including, but not limited to, all changes of name, address, telephone number, immigration status, and other pertinent information. You should inform your caseworker of changes in address and telephone number within five (5) business days of the change.

  • To appear at any USCIS interviews or court hearings or proceedings regardless of whether Immigration Legal Services will represent you in that matter.

  • To make all payments to Catholic Charities by the time Catholic Charities opens your case, and to make all payment required for the Immigration benefit.
