Director of Faith Formation

Location: St. Pius X Parish, Indianapolis

St. Pius X Catholic Church and School in Indianapolis IN, is seeking a full time Director of Faith Formation.

The Director of Faith Formation will foster and nourish community in the faith, from birth through adulthood.  The director of Faith formation will attend to the needs of the parish Faith Formation ministries. The faith formation ministries include RCIA, Sacramental Prep, Sunday Children’s faith formation and other faith formation ministries.

Responsibilities

1. Attend Parish Staff and Faith Formation Staff meetings as scheduled
2. Collaborate with other staff members, parishioners, especially Faith Formation and School in related areas of ministry.
3. Participate in continuing education and Archdiocesan meetings.
4. Participate in a yearly retreat.
5. This position reports directly to the Director of Evangelization and Discipleship

 

Skills, knowledge, education and training

1. Is a professed and practicing Catholic with a solid knowledge of the Traditions and teachings of the Church.
2. Bachelor’s degree in pastoral ministry, religious education, theology or related field.
3. Previous pastoral ministry experience in parish or campus setting 
4. Has knowledge and skills of the proper use of social media
5. Understand and comply with the Archdiocese of Indianapolis Code of Conduct
6. Successfully complete the Archdiocese of Indianapolis Child Safety Training and Background screening requirements
7. Hold a valid Driver’s License
